Omicron could infect half of Europe’s population in coming weeks – WHO

Omicron could infect more than half the population of Europe in the coming weeks – that’s according to the World Health Organisation.

Over 7 million newly reported cases of Covid 19 were reported in the first week of the year.

The WHO’s Europe Director Hans Kluge says the variant represents a west to east tidal wave sweeping across the region:
