NI Mother and Baby Home investigation receives 29 criminal allegations

A PSNI investigation into Mother and Baby Homes and Magdalene Laundries has so far received 29 allegations of criminal activity.

The inquiry – which started in October – centres on allegations of physical and sexual abuse.

Detectives believe there are still more people out there who’ve not yet come forward – including those who no longer live in Northern Ireland.

They’re trying to reach out to expats in countries including the USA and Australia.
