LOI Review with Declan Boyle

In this week’s League of Ireland Review, Chris Ashmore was joined by former Finn Harps Captain Declan Boyle to recap Friday’s action where Harps picked up their second point of the Premier Division season drawing 1-1 with Bohemians and Derry City won again with victory in Dublin over Shels.

They began by looking at the Harps game where a draw was a fair result.

Donegal League secretary reflects on 50th anniversary celebrations

The Donegal Junior Football League held a function on Friday to mark the 50th anniversary of the league.

FAI President Gerry McAnaney, who has strong Donegal connections, was the special guest at the league headquarters at Diamond Park, Ballyare.

On Sunday Sport, league secretary Nigel Ferry reflected on the evening’s events and the huge strides that have been made in Donegal soccer over the past 50 years when he was interviewed by Chris Ashmore.

Good win on the road for Derry – Cormac Doherty

Derry booked their place in the Division 2b final of the National Hurling League on Sunday as they beat Donegal by 23pts to 15pts in Letterkenny.

A second half surge seen the Oak Leaf side come from three down at the break to win by eight scores.

Covid certs no longer required coming into Ireland

 

Covid Certs and filling out a passenger locator form will no longer be required for travellers coming into Ireland.

In line with European-wide regulations masks are still required in Dublin airport and on aeroplanes.

Derry beat Donegal to book place in Division 2B hurling final

Donegal are still on course for a place in the National Hurling League Division 2B Final despite losing to Derry at O’Donnell Park.

Donegal led by 0-10 to 0-7 at the break with Davin Flynn prominent among the scorers, but Derry took complete control in the second half and emerged victorious on a final scoreline of Derry 0-23, Donegal 0-15.

Derry now have eight points while Donegal have six with one series of games to play. Donegal now play bottom of the table Mayo next week.

Sligo have four points after a 4-13 to 0-19 win over Mayo while London beat Wicklow by 3-16 to 1-9 and they also move to four points.

Woman injured after falling from a horse in Inishowen

A woman has been injured after falling from a horse in Inishowen.

The incident happened at Stragill Beach in Buncrana this morning.

Lough Swilly RNLI were paged today, shortly before 12pm, by Malin Head Coast Guard Radio to assist an ambulance crew at the scene.

It’s understood that the woman sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Donegal were beaten 2-7 to 1-7 by Mayo in the Ladies NFL this afternoon and will play Dublin in two weeks time in the semi final.
