Families of healthcare workers who died from covid 19 to receive €100,000

The state is set to pay €100,000 to the families of healthcare workers who died from Covid 19.

The Irish Times reports that Health Minister Stephen Donnelly will seek approval for the move at today’s cabinet meeting.

Its thought that around 20 families will receive the tax free payment.

To qualify their loved ones will have had to have contracted Covid 19 in their workplace.
